h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Some of you might recall my journal entries from last August, where I went on a little jaunt over the pond to attend a video games expo in Seattle and ended with a 36 hour return trip via Chicago, Copenhagen and Frankfurt. It was my intention of doing it all again this year...

But I'm not going to. Bum. Thanks to some faceless corporations for making me realise that spending my holiday at home should be more fun than enjoying the company of thousands of like-minded people out to have as much fun as you can possibly have with a d20, joypad, keyboard and mouse in three days.

Oh well there's always 2008 and the much-rumoured PAX East. New York is just so much easier to get to from Manchester than it is to get to Seattle. Slightly cheaper too, so that's a bonus. I still want to visit Seattle again, but for longer this time so I can actually see the place.

And I was looking forward to having an excuse to try to talk Tom into heading up that way this summer. Oh, well.

What faceless corporation has put you on a guilt trip?
