After what has been a pretty wierd and stressful week so far, today hasn't been as bad as it could have been. Managed to arrange for a lift to the interview so I got there ok. Was stuck in there for well over an hour, the first 20 minutes being a psychometric and "what do you know about databases" exam. Jeez, it was like being back at uni, and you wouldn't believe how much I'd either had forgotten or just had to bluff. The interview itself seemed to go ok too. Managed to plug here a few times, so at I might've scored some Brownie points there. Think the fact I'm doing a CCNA may also have helped, as they don't have any Cisco trained staff already and apparently have more servers than staff. My thinking is they've got support with advanced knowledge of databases and support with advanced knowledge of their software, if they add a network/server expert (well eventually) in there too they've got all three bases covered.
Anyhoo, it's now just a matter of waiting til the end of the week in order to find out whether or not they want me. That's also judgement day for the Uno. Since it broke down with three weeks due for an MOT I decided to book it in for that at the same time as getting whatever's up with the damn thing fixed. Hope that it's alright, not sure the job pays enough to afford a new one.

There's a chink of light visible. We'll see on Friday if it's the end of the tunnel, or an express train
