Sorry to bother you again...tech trubble.
I have my home PC, Windoze 98 (yeah, yeah! ), connected to my Wanadoo broadband.
I also have my work PC, Windoze XP Pro, with which I *should* be able to connect to my work network using VPN connectivity...
I've loaded the Wanadoo software on the work PC, it seems to work, I have a connection.
But no web pages will load! I get "page not found" all the time! I *know* there's nothing wrong with the connection, it's something on the PC/Windoze/IE settings, but I don't know what. I've disabled Windoze firewall, don'tknow where to go next.
Just to complicate matters, I don't have a router at home, so can only use one PC at a time.
Any ideas?

My brain's a bit frazzled but a few things that spring to mind are:
Try cleaning out the browser cache
Double check that windows firewall still isn't running. It may report that it isn't but sometimes can still run. We had this problem at work, it was technically disabled but was still blocking all activity over the network connection helpfully (Windows Firewall -> advanced -> network connections)
Sorry I'm not much help. I'll have a proper stab tomorrow but this should be enough to start with.

Windows firewall is "off" in the advanced tab...last time I had this prob I went through loads of hoops with some guy in a call centre in India, eventually we found out what the problem was...should've written it down, shouldn't I? All I remember is that it was something in the Windows or IE set-up that cracked it.
Bloody work computers...they're supposed to be easy to use for home work

Have you sorted this RF? My two ideas are proxy settings and dns.
Do you get a webpage displayed if you go to http://212.58.224.88/ if you do it's probably a dns problem (dns is the translation between the numbers and things such as www.bbc.co.uk (which is the address above)). If not you should need to check the proxy settings are correct for Wanadoo - this probably isn't the same as for your work network.

Sort of got it sorted. Half the problem is the dozy VPN connection we use - it seems to decide when it will work (rarely) or not (often) by itself.
I may give it another try later this afternoon.
