The Master Alchemist?
Count Fulcanelli can often be spotted during these autumnal days sitting on the porch step of his whitewashed cottage, sipping hot green tea and contemplating his tiny existence. Here he lives alone with his trusty companion ‘Kingsbury II’, a large white cat of almost unimaginable density.
The Count is a 25-year-old human male, currently residing in a small village somewhere in the heart of Cumbria. He enjoys playing music, song writing, and often dabbles in the creative arts of poetry and prose. Some of his current interests include the study of ‘Forteana’, paranormal investigation, and psychoanalytical thought. In this field, he is particularly keen on the works of Colin Wilson, T.C. Lethbridge, and Carl Gustav Jung.
The count’s name is created by fusing together the names of two well-known Parisian alchemists, these are ‘The Count Saint-Germain’, and the formidable ‘Fulcanelli’, both of whom it is claimed may have achieved the alchemist’s dream and successfully created elixirs of life, allowing them to live forever.
The Count is an ordinary, although slightly eccentric young man, who discovered his mind several years ago when he finally realised that televisions can be switched off by a simple act of will. This has reduced the Count to a lifetime of head scratching and a quest to discover the ultimate answer to the mystery of life, the universe, and everything.
Perhaps one day he will realise that we are in fact lost inside this question, swimming around in the gloop of it's very meaning, saying to ourselves; if only we could see all this from the outside, then we'd know...
