I'm not really here

Thinking of getting a tablet, mainly so I can do some writing on my lap in front of the telly - I had a netbook but its sadly died recently. It was a good age. 4 I think. I researched keyboards first, then the tablets they fit! Thinking of a Nexus 10, mainly because the keyboard I like has to fit a 10"... don't really need such a flashy thing, but equally don't want something pants...

I love my Asus Transformer. It's smaller than the Nexus but there's a battery in the keyboard dock as well as the tablet itself so we get about 15 hours per charge.

Yep. Me too.

I have recommended the Nexus 7 to several folks who asked about tablets. It's smaller and much cheaper than most tablets out there with about the same processing power as some of the better ones. But so far, no one I know has got one for me to play with.

I'm not really here

Since I wrote this I've decied to trial a bluetooth keyboard with the smartphones first. I wanted access to the online calendar when out of the house, and didn't want to pay for another dataplan on a third device. I'll see how this goes, then come back to tablets. The Samsung is a reasonable screen to use for typing (I think) when I can't be bothered to sit at the computer.

Do you use Google Calendar? I do and have the widget on my home screen so I can keep up to date (I still forget everyone's birthdays despite the notifications though smiley - tongueout)

I use something called Keep and Share. Google wanted me to put times in and I just wanted the dog's name and which service they were on, then I schedule separately. It's still not ideal as I can't order it without putting in times, but I can get access from my smart phone, edit and update when I'm out, add work, notes etc. Some of the houses I go in I don't get a signal at all though. So annoying!

I just checked and Google calendar on my phone now defaults to All Day events. Uncheck it to enter times.

I'll have another look, although it might be too terrifying to change now in case I miss something on the other calendar!

Although an all day event isn't really that helpful anyway....

No, it just means that there isn't a time period involved.
