Yes, failed me. My pet insurance didn't take the payment due to selling the company, and they didn't tell me. Now they're trying to fob me off on why they didn't tell me. My policy was apparently 'cancelled'. Then I'm told it was 'marked for cancellation' at the end of the policy. Yes I should have checked my statement, but it went through the business account, and I don't check that until the end of the year (this March). I wasn't trying to claim at this stage, merely pointing out I might claim if a problem my dog has doens't clear up as he will need an operation. The way pet insurance works, any insurance company will now exclude the problem he has - which could reoccur.
Then number two - the woman who hit my van last year has apparently been offered £450 by my insurance company as if it was my fault. Who told me they haven't had an accident report from me, and despite not having a claim sent in be the third party. They're sending YET ANOTHER accident report form.
Both in the same hour. I am not having a good day. I was up until 2 o'clock.

Hmm, the second scenario happened to me a couple of years back. With you on that one.
The first seems to be de rigeur at the moment. From what I've been hearing on TV and in the press, it's going to be barely worth having pet insurance in the future (insurance companies might want to take note of that - they won't have any income if they make the policies worthless )
I took the decision not to bother with pet insurance for our moggies the other year as I couldn't see how it was financially worth it from all the exclusions on the contract. I don't however have your situation which I would imagine required considerable insurance.

Normally I never insure (Fred an Beauty only have 3rd party), but Daxies are prone to back trouble, which is about £3-5k a time and once gone, usually goes again. My intention is to stop the insurance once he's 7 or so, because he will be past the danger age by then.
I never had Buster insured, he cost me a couple of grand over the last few years with his auto-immune and other problems, but I'd have paid that out (AT LEAST) over his 13 years, and by the time he was 12 I'd have no doubt been on 3rd party only as it would have been too expensive to fully insure an old dog.
Key: Complain about this post
