Got BT Infinity, 40 meg! or something.

We have that! it's mostly ace.

h2g2 doesn't seem to be keeping up too well, but other sites are loading so fast I haven't got time to think!

I'm still waiting for my broadband to get increased up to 120 MB from the 100 it is at the moment... I got a vague E-mail about it from Virgin... who I hate... We can't even get BT broadband in this town... not at a speed worth talking about anyhow, unless they've changed anything since I last looked It does make such a differnce though... I remember going from dialup to the ultra fast connection at University, and it has seemed to take years for home broadband to get close to the speed I used to get there, on, well, what today would be considered an ancient PC I had at the time back then <zoom

I was getting about 3-5. I've wanted cable tv for about 20 years, but we don't have that in our town.

Well, we've had cable here for years... used to be NTL, now its virgin, but they've just taken over the entire market, until the point now, where BT barely bother to provide any kind of internet service faster than what you'd get in a village...

naa, I'm not bemoaning 100 MB, just looking forward to 120, though as I do recall, the university connection I had, years ago was probably faster even than what I have now and* on a slower PC using it way back in... err 2001 or 2002 I think it would have been I guess you just take it for granted once you have a pretty stable fast connection, and it comes as a bit of a supprise still to realise that half the country hasn't even got proper broadband connections... I still say they'd be better spending all that money set aside for the high speed rail rubbish, on putting a really top notch, able to compete with mainland Europe, broadband network in place throughout the entire country

Oh stop your whining! I only get 5.9 meg and there's no way we will ever see Virgin or BT Infinity in this town
