I'm not really here Started conversation Nov 4, 2011
I've developed very good observational skills with dogs - so I can see quite minute changes in ear carriage, lip movements, the way they walk and move around each other. It's got so I'm amazed how other people miss HUGE GREAT FLASHING signals their dogs are trying to tell them. They don't have spoken language, but I understand what they are telling me.
I need to learn how to do this with people, so I'll be doing a lot of staring.
Also language, I'd like to learn to understand what people are telling me - I mean, one owner kept telling me she didn't think she should leave her dog alone for more than two hours when she went out. About a year later, it suddenly pops into my head - was trying to say 'I'd like boarding with you, but I don't want you to leave the dog alone for more than two hours' and if that's why she stopped using me? My policy at the time was 'on busy days I may be out of the house for two shifts of three hours each' (well it had to be when I was working on my own, it's different now I've got my team!) which was on my website.
Honestly, I have no clue what people are trying to tell me sometimes. I can understand why Teenacher struggles sometimes.

Well, when you've sussed it, let me in on the secret will you?! What I find mind-blowing is when people's lips say something, but their body says something else. People are weird.

Sorry, am a bit behind in reading other people's journals, no idea why
I found this site to be of interest when it comes to body language:
