I don't let my phone interrupt me either. 
I'm constantly ignoring it, much to the annoyance of my neighbour (well, she's got her number blocked so I don't know it's her to call back...).
I stopped going round to see a friend because after about 10 mins she'd start making phone calls. WT..? She invites me round to listen to her phone calls? :sigh:

I have some friends who I don't call any more because they always seem annoyed that I've interrupted the latest episode of Only Fools and Horses (shows how long it is since I last bothered to call them) or whatever. Jeez, it's not like I'm just around the corner, it's a transatlantic call fer cryin' out loud 
No matter what time I call it seems there's always something I'm stopping them from watching.
