Welcome to Glasgow!

Post 1

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

I moved up from Essex-way to Glasgow myself, many years ago. I met my wife when I lived in Harlow and she in Braintree.

Hopefully you've settled in to the fair city now - doubtless in the student-infested West End smiley - winkeye. I'm a Southsider myself.

What are you studying?

Literature primarily, theatre studies might be a possible combined and English language because they made me do it. I wanted to do politics as my third subject this year and philosophy next year, but because of language I can't so I might just go to the lectures anyway. Yes I'm afraid I'm in the West side, near the Kelvin area if you know it. Very settled and have all that I need as a student: the campus, the pubs, clubs and cinemas and Morrisons/green grocers for fresh food. smiley - smiley Liking it much more than Essex, but thats probably being at university more than anything - that and the lack of that horrid Essex accent.

I admire your spirit, attending lectures that you don't have to!

One lecturer told me (years later) that he'd given me extra marks on an essay once just on principle, having seen me coming out of the library with Bertrand Russell's History of Western Philosophy.
