Hi Rich
I just wanted to tell you I have left a comment on the PR thread belonging to my Star Trek Online Entry because some information was not accurate anymore.
thanks

Hi Tav,
Sorry for the delay in getting this edited. I wasn't quite ready to sub anything when I got your entry assigned to me, and as we've just had our first baby and a new college term has started time has been a bit stretched lately.
I found the PR thread and made those changes.
Couple of queries:
'The story of the game is set in an alternate reality to the usual Star Trek universe in the 25th Century.' - do you mean that the usual ST universe is set in the 25th Century, or that the alternate reality is set in the 25th century?
I don't understand the sentences 'Depending on the ship class a certain number of different officers can be used in space fights at the same time, by which their skills get available in fights.' or 'This basically is the end of end game content then.' Could you clarify what you mean please?
I have made a few (mainly cosmetic) changes, so perhaps you could have a read through and make sure I haven't introduced any errors?
I won't be online over the weekend but I will check back in early next week and sort out anything that is outstanding then.

hi
I heard about the baby, congratulations. I hope all is going well.
Don't worry about the delay, my only worry were the changes that would keep the Entry up to date.
To answer your question: the game is set in the 25th Century but in an alternate reality. Alternate to the ST series on TV and such. It's a time after the Voyager returned home, you can meet the daughter of Tom and B'Elana for instance. But it's alternate as such as things that happen in the game (storyline-wise) never happen in the 'real' ST universe.
Does that make sense?
thanks, I'll read through it

Hi Tav,
Did you find time to have a read through yet?
I have changed that sentence to 'The Star Trek universe of the game, as in the film, book and TV version, is set in the 25th Century - albeit in an alternative reality. Events taking place in the game do not also take place in the the 'real' Star Trek universe. ' which I think is a bit clearer.
I'd also like to clarify the otehr two sentences I mentioned up above.
There's no rush whatsoever, I am only online every few days at the moment anyway

Sorry that I didn't answer the questions. I'll try to do that now. The only thing that is not correct about the sentence you posted above seems to be that the Star Trek films etc do not *only* play in the 25th Century but also in earlier times. Isn't one set in the 23rd even? Not sure about that. Other than that you are right, it's clearer.
I'll answer the other things in a new post.

About the ship class... there are different ships, for instance a science ship would allow a player to choose more science officers to be active in space battles while a cruiser (Engineer vessel) allows more Engineering officers and other ships more tactical officers. But all usually have at least one of each.
The player can choose which of his officers they want to take as active officers in space. By this the skills of these officers become available in battle.
Does that make sense?
The game content... well, the story is over, there are no more things to do once you have reached the maximum level. Other games offer lots of things like group content to keep people playing. In Star Trek Online everything you can do then is start the game again with a new character. Although it got a bit better with recent updates this problem is still (as far as I saw) not really solved.

Content basically is everything there is to do in a game, like quests and dungeons and whatever.

Thanks, Tav. Sorry it's taken so long to get back. Our little boy is going through a bit of a funny phase at the moment and my time is very stretched. I've returned it now though, so hopefully it won't be too long before it's on the front Page.
