Hi scankyrich
I also suffer with SAD (<./>S</.>easonal <./>A</.>ffective <./>D</.>isorder
You can get a SAD lamp from Argos priced at £39.99 are you can goto B&Q for a special bulb (Daylight bulb) which my GP mentioned to me, if thats not succesful you can go on line and search for DayLight Bulbs as the Lightbox is over £200 and uses the same bulb, it's alot cheaper than going on holiday at this time of year. Hope this is some help?
Dale.

Hey, pal!
Another depression sufferer here - not so much seasonal perhaps, but now and then I fall down in it. I'm on my way up this round, and hope you come round quickly too.
One thing that does NOT help, is being brave, pretending I'm fine, ignoring that I am tired and going on as if nothing is wrong. This time, I let go, I took the downtime, rested and took my meds (still take them) It is so tiring to try to be brave, but letting go, allowing myself to really be sad for a while also allows me to rest and come back. And I noticed that I wasn't so sad as I had feared, and coming back wasn't as hard either as I had feared.
Be well, my friend!

Good to hear from you Milla, and to know you are 'on the up'. I agree fighting on is admirable, but sometimes it is counter-productive.
Take care,

Hi Milla,
Yes I suffer with deppression etc etc but I can't speak of it on h2g2 no more that's why I've gone els where on BBC I have nothing in common with anyone here everone so far up them selfs, they think they better than me and they're to well educated for the likes of me! I've added you to my friends list for future use but I'm sorry I'm unsubbing from this thread, I try and fit in but whats the use they should be a thread for people who suffer with deppression, panic attacks, anioty etc etc but they all chat about the univers and silly really. You'll find me in gardening boards etc check out my posts has I can talk about my garden etc Bye for now
D.W.S

LifesTwoShort, if you say you're going to unsubscribe, it's considered polite to actually do so. This is a thread on my Personal Space, I have no idea who you are or why you came here, and I don't understand your posting.

Milla, you're a real sweetie. When the days start to get longer again, maybe I'll try to plan a trip out to see you. I looked at some pictures a while ago when I read you were fro Lund, and I had a look again this evening after reading your post on the other thread. It looks lovely, but I'd prefer to see it in the spring or autumn rather than in December. I'm sure it will be at its best at this time of year, and I'm certainly not at mine right now.
But I won't forget your kind offer

If you calmed down and got to know people you would find there are many people on h2g2 with problems, and they talk to each other, mostly without getting uppity. Try it and you might be surprised. There are many who have depression and other problems and have an understanding of it. We help each other.
I am sorry you are dyslexic, but in my experience it is no barrier to a good life and good friendships. You just have to have time and patience and good manners.

LifesTooShort, I didn't mean to offend in any way, I am sorry you felt hurt. I do hope you feel better soon.
Glad you found a vacation, Rich!
