Secretly Not Here Any More

So how are you finding your editorship of the Post? Looks like you've got quite a team together!

It's going really well, thanks! I'm thoroughly enjoying it - there's a very nice energy surrounding The Post at the moment, and it always feels good to be involved with something that has that. Having a big team does help; there's much less pressure on publication weeks, so it's much easier to do a bit of running around.

And we're getting quite a few interesting ideas coming in as well smiley - winkeye

Anything not from me? smiley - tongueout

I must admit, I was worried about the post when it went from weekly to fortnightly, but under EMR and yourself it's gone from strength to strength.

smiley - laugh Well, yes, there are quite a few ideas from you! And let's hope someone takes up the Mr Inquisitor column.

I don't think it would work on a weekly basis now, anyway. The pressure on regular columns would mean that we wouldn't get many regular columnists, and we wouldn't have time to look at anything outside putting the issue together. As it is, we've got time to look around and see what's happening in the community, and we can do that without having to give up work in other parts of the site. So I agree that it might have looked bad at the time, but long-term it was a very good move.

EMR did a very, very fine job - she was on her own for a lot of the time, too. I'm very lucky to have such a good team, because it means I can be a it more proactive rather than wondering how the hell I'm going to get the next issue together!

She amazes me that one, she really does. I always have to do a double take when she refers to how young she is. I'm sat there thinking "I'm in my twenties, and I struggle to sit down and write a shopping list after a day at work - you, you're a teenager and you're at school, editing the post, writing for websites all over the show..."

Then again, I'm consistently impressed by B'el, especially when she does everything in a foreign language - and your amazingly prolific too of course.

I've floated the MMI idea with Mr. Dreadful - I think he'd make a great Mr I. But, on the other hand, Uncle Matt's got an idea for a history-themed interview and of course there's King Bomba's column. Those two are sort of why I decided to pass on the mantle, I need to think of a regular feature to write that we've not seen before. Milliways is almost that column, but that needs to be given wholeheartedly to the community - one writer couldn't get a broad enough scope.

Looks like we could be in for some interesting times!

Oh, is this week's post going to be called "The Psycorp Issue", or are you going to ignore my hat-trick of entries? smiley - winkeye

Oh, I'd just ignore them if that ever happened. Can't have one person taking all the biscuits can we? Why, did you submit something for this issue? Maybe it fell foul of our 603 filter.

Now come on Rich, if you implemented one of those, you;d have no new ideas!

I think it's fair to say that you've dominated this issue, anyway! It's really good to have such a positive vibe around the place, and it's better to be busy, eh? smiley - smiley

Oh, it really is. I only used to read the regulars (well, some of the regulars), but I'm looking at pretty much the whole thing now. Quality's improved a bit.

One more Milliways and we're a regular, you know smiley - winkeye

Still looking good to me!

Should have two more Milliways with you by the end of the bank holiday weekend, so that's looking good. It would be three, but L wants to write one - no idea when she'll have that done by though.

I'm a little skint myself. You could be getting a review of McDonalds or something soon.

I did actually plan that out as an emergency reserve - only taking it home as opposed to eating it in.

"Atmosphere
Well, it's quiet and I don't much like the decor; plus the television blaring away in the corner's not really helping conversation flow. Plus there seems to be a cat wandering round. Then again, the seat's very comfortable and I suppose this is /my/ house - so I'll have to give it a 5/5"

Oh, that would be so damn good! I did consider doing my local Indian takeaway, but with far less wit than you've managed there.

I could do a compare and contrast - Big Mac vs Whopper vs Something from h2g2 such as A624223

That could actually be really cool.

I've done one of my reviews, L's working on hers, and I'll finish my second one tonight. That way I can send all three in a word doc so you don't have to fuss about with three emails. smiley - ok
