Brief delay here while I get Bob's out of PR, but I should be able to have this done by the end of next week (Post week, I'm afraid), with a bit of luck. I'm really enjoying this one, and I think it will be my last as a Sub, so I want it to be just right

I'm honoured that you picked my project to be your last.....for the time being i suspect
I doubt i will ever tackle anything on this scale again, so i suppose it's my last too.
Let me know when you want me to submit the photos for this.

I did pick it to be my last, and I think it will be. I do a lot of editing for the Post now, and I don't want to edit so much that I hate doing it. So editing a good friend's Entries on a subject I'm interested in anyway seems like the best way to bow out
Remind me of the photos when this gets to PR. Just have them all ready to send

I'm pleased you're finding it interesting. Having read through a few now, you don't think my phrasing repeats too much? ie 'This Orchid' etc
I hope we don't lose touch after the project has been completed and finished.

Oh, we won't, don't worry
I work in stages on Uni projects - it's like washing your car before you wax it So don't worry if it looks like there are a few flies still stuck to the windscreen...

My weekends been ok, in a stay indoors kind of way. It rained for 10 hours constant yesterday, no garden time there
I'm off sick for two weeks, arthritis is being a real pain. I'm hoping to spend some of that time in the garden taking photos etc.
The wild orchids have started to bud, they should be flowering in a month shame you can't see them.
Hows your weekend been?

Skankyrich [?] Posted May 18, 2008
Oh, what a bummer! If you get bored, email me - I'm on email far more often than I am on h2g2, so I'm free for a natter quite often.
I wouldn't be able to ID the wild orchids anyway - I'd think they were saxifrages. If only I had some botany skills, there'd be no stopping me
I've had quite a good weekend, very busy but satisfying. I went to Devon County Show yesterday with The Wildlife trust as a volunteer, which was good fun. We had a big display of loads of wildlifey bits and bobs that kids had to try to identify
Got to dash off for a bit, back later!

Yeah it is a pain, especially as i'll only get SSP for two weeks Mind you if the weather improves i can go for walks we have some nice areas around here that i havent walked for years.
You would'nt have any trouble indentifying an orchid, they are so different from the usual wild flowers you see. The leaves are usually a giveaway if they are not in flower.
I like shows, theres always so many things to see. We used to have a big show in Essex once a year, where all the farmers and local crafts people would display their goods and animals. I don't think it runs anymore though. Is the Devon show a big one?
I've just been watching the Chelsea Flower show preview I love to see the flowers and unusual plants.
One day i will go though apparently you see more on the TV than you can at the show itself.
Thanks for the offer to email, i'll take you up on that.

I haven't forgotten, but I've been interminably busy. I should be a lot further along in a fortnight or so's time

Skankyrich [?] Posted Jul 5, 2008
Did I say a fortnight?
Sorry, I'm still being very busy. I probably left it a bit late to cajole you into action. I've only got two weeks of camps left now, though, so I shouldn't be keeping you waiting much longer.

Skankyrich [?] Posted Jul 5, 2008
No, when I was cajoling you to get it finished earlier in the year! Anyway, I could tell you were a patient sort, as it took you a year or so to write it

Ah, but it was well worth the wait.
I have some new photos of my orchids this year, taken with the new camera

Skankyrich [?] Posted Jul 5, 2008
See, I knew you would've, that's why I waited Email them to me some time this week, making it clear which one is for which Entry, and I'll try to get them sorted out next weekend.

I'll do that. There is only two varieties though, i'd have liked more but the two new orchids did'nt flower this year. Which will mean on two of the entries will have a photo
