That sounds interesting and important. There are funny coincidences: when I researched for the Explora entry, I came across a site giving information about places of interest/museums for handicapped people, the results of which I included in the entry. (I am ashamed to admit that I wouldn't have thought about this, and it hadn't occurred to me once before I read it ). Yesterday, a woman came to my workplace, asking for a calling card of our pharmacy/health-food shop, metering rule in hand to measure the doors etc of the shop: she works for exactly that organisation which publishes the results online and whose site I found.

That's an amazing coincidence! I'm never sure if I want to do this full-time or not, but when I compare it to the hotel I could be convinced
They sent me to a marsh once, which seemed a bit pointless! This one is quite difficult, because I've had a big idea for it that I need to explain and justify...

But a certainly a marsh has its drawbacks, too, like being very muddy when wet? I can't tell whethere you'd really prefer doing this to yur work in the hotel on the long run- isn't it quite a lonely job? Npobody to talk to all day?

Only when I'm doing the fieldwork. But then, there's nothing like having a nature reserve all to yourself; walking around quietly disturbing deer and foxes, alone in the woods with only the birds for company, finding the odd bit of sensational beauty. Some of these reserves are only visited by a handful of people each year, there's some real hidden gems out there. I've always enjoyed being alone in nautre.

Oh, the point about the marsh was that no-one could get round it, not even me!

Yes, I see what you mean, although there's nobody to share your memories with, all you can do is write them down for a bunch of internet weirdos and let them share your travels in their imagination.

Yes, I do that!
Sometimes, though, I do things like just sitting by the river with a coffee looking for otters or watching birds - if someone was with me, I'd have to say 'shall we...?' and hope it sounded like a good idea. I like exploring what's around, you know?

Yes, I fully understand that. I enjoy every minute that I'm alone, because they are so rare - although they are many more since my sons have grown so much.

Nothing much, really, tried to comment in PR as much as possible, as well as amending my own entries. Must finish subbing, hope I'll manage tomorrow. Thinking about writing another entry, but that is going to take time.

I've made a couple of comments there, but I haven't read anything - I'm going to have a backlog when I get back properly

You mean backlog in the threads where you have commented? True, that could happen, depending on how long before you'll be back.

Awww, thank you. I just try to remember the time when I was new and everything was confusing and intimidating - not that I'd ever have dared to write something and publish it, mind
There were researchers I was really scared of, I left every conversation the moment they posted there.

I need your help with this sentence, Rich:
>>A half of a slice of pizza or a half-slice folded over is half as conspicuous.<<
Apart from the fact that I'm not sure it's all correct as it stands, it just sounds odd, and three times 'half' seems to be too much anyway. Any suggestions ?

Skankyrich [?] Posted Nov 5, 2006
It sounds odd on its own, but in context it sounds fine. I'd leave it as it is.

Thank you , it's always good to have a second opinion, because I'm really trying not to change anything unless I think it's absolutely necessary. I'll leave it like it is then.
Do you have a quiet day?
Good Luck !
Skankyrich [?] Posted Nov 5, 2006
Yes, it's not been too bad. I've finished the early shift and got some more work done, and I'm off for a pint and to watch the fireworks shortly
