I'm ok with breaking the habit, i can find other things to do with my hands, but keeping the in my head at bay is a different thing altogether which is where my willpower needs some help
I will let you know when i decide to do it....but it won't be this week.

'Ahem' We've had conversations about my cooking skills....well lack of them, so any curry has got to be better than mine, especially as it won't have the added ingerdient of 'blade guard' in it!

No, but you were thinking it
I was just totally distracted by an advert for chocolate truffle dipping sauce I'm going to have to get me some of that.
Sorry that bears no relevance to this conversation

I went 12 hours without one, then I had one. It tasted foul, and my head span. I had to have one, because I don't think I'm ready to smoke no cigarettes day after day yet, and I don't want to peak too soon
It's funny, because I didn't really crave. I couldn't think about anything other than cigarettes for most of the day, but I didn't want one at all.

Thanks, I think so too
I've got most of the day off tomorrow, which will be a challenge as there will be nothing in theory to stop me from smoking any time I want. I seem to have quite a good support team here, anyway!

Too right! Anytime you want to smoke, envisage having to come on here and tell us you did, and we all look like this .

I actually wanted a cigarette quite strongly at about 2pm, but I wanted to come and post that I hadn't had one all day, so I didn't Yes, I know I could have just lied, but that's not the point, is it?

One of the parts of my English Language exam consists of six primary sources - news, journals, magazines, etc - around which you have to construct an argumentative essay. This year's was about advertising, and one of the sources asserted that the cigarette industry essentially created the smoking culture in the United States. I don't know about Britain or the rest of the world, but do you really want a bunch of companies controlling your habits in any case?

No, I don't, EMR. But a bunch of companies dictate every part of my life, from the food I eat to the music I buy. The difference with smoking is that there are no tangible benefits; it's a fairly useless sort of thing to be sold The odd thing is that most people start smoking as an act of rebellion...
I've had eight today, Elentari. That sounds a lot more, but I took the bold steps of leaving the house without them, once to walk into town and once to drive to Dartmouth (an hour away) to pick up a composter. So I know I can leave the comfort blanket behind now as well

I normally smoke 3-4 on the way there and the same on the way back if I'm driving that far, just because I liked smoking with the open road and sitting in traffic bores me, so I smoked then as well. So I needed cigarettes for both, but apparently not any more.
By the way, if anyone has any spare money, buy shares in Wrigley. I'm chewing gum like a cow with its afternoon cud at the moment

Is the composter because it's 'Compost awareness week'? I'm getting a Komp 250, but because it's made from recycled materials there's a three month waiting list. Summer will be over by then.
In the meantime I'm doing my bit to make people aware of compost by having on right by the kitchen door - which is at the front of the house.
Key: Complain about this post
