h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've spent a bit of time today reading some of your writing (actually, I started out trying to decide what I wanted to polish for the UG this month). I thought I might suggest a book or two that you might enjoy.

A couple of years ago I discovered the Kushiel's Legacy trilogy in the sci-fi/fantasy section of the local bookstore. I can't say what made me pick it up - other than it was cheap (it was a second-hand bookstore) - but I was almost instantly hooked. I've read them several times by now, and everything else the author has written as well.

Ah, yes - I began the first one a few years ago - but then I was thirteen years old, and I didn't cope that well with the "adult" material. I should give it another try!

Yes, I wouldn't think 13 would be quite old enough. Even with all the 'adult' content aside there are some very intricate plot devices that would be lost on a younger reader, I'm sure. I'm well into my 30s and I'm still finding things I missed before every time I read them.

Seventeen is probably on the young side for these to be entirely appropriate, but you seem to have your head on straight and have a good idea of the direction you're going in. And as I've found again and again with younger people on this site, you are pleasantly mature for your age. I'd like to think I was half as eloquent (and honest) at 17, but I know that's not terribly likely.

Anyway, give it a go, I hope you enjoy them.
