hullo echomikeromeo -
my name is Helen - I write under the names of cactuscafe and cactuscafepart2 (long story why two names).
I lurk in the AWW, writing poems to spiders and sacred skies, and other things of obscure beauty.
my friend Phred sent me - he left me a message, saying that The Post would like to print some of my poems -
so I am making contact, just to say OK! - even though I am nervous, I am learning to share my output with my fellow h2-ers.
perhaps you tell me where on earth I go from here - if you still want to go ahead with this?!
I am away next week, Monday to Friday, otherwise I am lurking somewhere - like in the AWW
thanks then echomikeromeo
Helen

Hope I get you before you leave then, cactuscafe!
Phred told me that he'd pointed you in our direction. Have you ever read <./>ThePost</.> before? Just go to that link and you'll see it. The Post Office at U54963 also has some helpful information.
But to paraphrase it all, just send anything you'd be interested in sharing to . Be sure to include your h2g2 name and user number. Then we can include your poems in !

thankyou for getting back, echomikeromeo - I'm still here till Tuesday -
so I contacted skankyrich also, in case one or other of you were on Christmas holidays or something -
so I just type out the text of my poem and send it, with covering information, to the e-mail address you kindly sent me? - I was wondering if my work needed an AWW A number - already reviewed?
I just read The Post yesterday, in fact! A great magazine! Well done! Looking forward to working with you ---

That's exactly right, Helen.
You don't need to include an A-number - going through the AWW is not a requirement for Post articles.
But if you are submitting something to The Post, please do remove it from the AWW.
We look forward to receiving your submissions.

Hah echomikeromeo! crucial information! thankyou thankyou -
I didn't realise that I had to remove my work from the AWW before submitting to The Post - see, all my stuff to date is kind of indexed and laid to rest now in the AWW - the 'home' of my poems - and I think it would feel a bit strange to remove them from this context -
not that I don't want to share my work with you folks - nothing like that - I love The Post! In fact I think two of my poems have already been in it - sometime back in the summer, when I first joined h2, via the CACC - to be honest with you, its all been a bit of a haze and a daze for six months - even though I am fifty, this is the first time I have really put my work 'out there' at all - being a bit of a sensitive type -
I think, emr, I will change tack a bit here - perhaps in January, if I write anything new, I will write it specifically for The Post - as a completely separate project to the AWW -
hope this makes some sense, and sounds OK to you?
thanks for everything and taking the time to get back to me -
Helen

That sounds lovely, Helen.
The reason I suggest that you remove your work from the AWW after it's been featured somewhere is because several groups pick from the AWW and so one group might not realise that another group had featured your writing.
But we would welcome even more anything that you write especially for us.

emr - felt to inspired, couldn't sleep, wrote a poem for The Post anyway - see it as a gift if you don't want to use it! plus took one of AWW that hadn't been submitted -
gotta go - my holidays await!
