Meet in London

I'll be in London that day, but packing up a Transit van full of gear most of the day, and driving off to Slovenia sometime in the late afternoon. I doubt I can get away for long enough even to briefly meet up with the afternoon pub-bound lot.
It's a pity there isn't a picnic in the afternoon, since the van packing is happening close to the Albert Hall, and I could probably have made it to Hyde Park for a short while.
I'll probably be around in London the night before (have to drop off my gear on the Friday, and dump my car in Brentwood first thing Saturday morning), but plans are as yet uncertain.

Hi Nyss.
The trip went OK, though we didn't find much cave. We didn't go deep this year for various reasons, so still have our deep leads to push in future, and we did quite a bit of surface work without much obvious success. Possibly the best surface lead I found had a little incident involving a large (ie multiton) boulder falling over without any obvious provocation onto the place I had just been crouching when I heard it start to move (and where I'd been lying a few minutes earlier).
I'm in a strange mood at present as well - when I returned, I found out a friend of mine has been in a coma for the last month following a cycling accident on holiday. Though she's now breathing unassisted and showing some signs of activity, it's anyone's guess how much, or how quickly, she may recover. She's one of those deeply special people that the world undeniably needs more of, and that seems to make it harder to understand or accept.
It must be so terribly difficult for her husband (another dear friend), and for the older of her two kids.
