I noticed you just kicked an old askh2g2 forum back up to the top of the list. It's nice to see I'm not the only person digging about in the archives. I'm researching reasons why threads suddenly 'die' - what're you doing down there?

I was looking at my oldest available postings, and it seemed quite a potentially interesting one to kick back up for discussion (and there's nothing quite like looking back on something you wrote a couple of years before when generally annoyed with life and realising you agree with every word you wrote).

I got got bored of looking for _why_ posts died, and started looking at the _who_, ie' the last poster on every thread, in the hope that they could come up with some information, unfortunately, in my list of 'thread killers' for askh2g2 in the last 2 months, I appear to be top

I'm puzzled by the phrase 'already playing bridge' - without a particular context, it's hard to imagine why that might annoy someone.

"I went into a chatroom, and would you believe it - some people were already playing bridge!!! - the bas!@rds"

Ah - did you mean:
"I'd already had a bad run-in with some [other] Americans whilst playing bridge"

@ the general randomness of these observations.

Well done . Just think what difference a comma in the original would have made.
