But now that i have wiped him from our lives all is great. So as you have probably noticed i havent been on hootoo for a few days.
I have today off so i am in the middle of cooking a roast lamb for tea.

Hi there !!!
Nice to see you back.
It’s a holiday over here. My country is notorious (in the happiest sense of the word !!!) for the many holidays - about 29 of them every year!!!. Today is a full-moon or “Poya” holiday – every full-moon day is a holiday.
I am very sad to hear of your trouble with such an important person as your father. I know alcohol has terrible consequences.
Our cricket team is now in Australia – I am not too confident of their performance, the Aussie team is very, very strong.
You must be a superb cook – Roast Lamb!!! – and, shall not disturb you.

Hi there,
How is your day going?
Mine isnt too bad im having another day at home and am cleaning the house.
I cant believe you guys have so many holidays,do all the shops and schools close on a full moon?
Last night we had a terrible thunder storm and the lightning was terrible it caused a lot of power surges in my sisters street and she lives about 2 mins walk from my house and we were lucky nothing happened in our street and tonight there is meant to be another storm. My sister lost her computer and her cordless phone but she was telling me that other people in her street lost a lot of electrical items.
and as for my father i am glad that he is not in our lives anymore and it is the same with my mother as i havent spoken to her in months now.
My parents divorced about 12-13 years ago.I dont like either of them.
And not to be modest or loving myself too much but i am a good cook and like cooking.
Take care
Talk soon

Hi there Madame,
I’m getting on ok – it’s difficult to get back to “work mode” for just one day before the weekend. Colombo is also having terrible weather. These monsoonal rains are heavy with intermittent bouts of fierce lightning and thunder. I to have lost electrical equipment, including a computer, during storms in the past.
Yes, all shops (apart from a few supermarkets), schools and clubs are closed on “Poya” holidays, more annoyingly, the sale of liquor is banned.
I am very sad about your parents, but, I am sure you know best to handle the situation.
It is great to be a good cook and enjoy it too!!!
Today, I have several progress meetings and will be busy till late in the evening.
Wishing you all the best – will talk soon.

You must be a chef par excellence - hope you and your lucky family enjoy tea !!!
Waiting for kids to return from guitar lessons to have lunch.
Do you use actual mangoes to prepare the exotic "dish"?
Please Don't Go
Hermione1 Posted Nov 3, 2007
Nah i cheated and got the mango chicken from the butchers and then i fried it up on our non stick frypan so that way i didnt have to use any oil or butter it just cooked up very nicely in the juices.
I love to cook and i love stir frys i actually like to experiment when cooking and am always up for a challenge providing i have plenty of time to do so.
your kids do a lot in their spare time which is good it keeps them occupied.
2moz i am back at work as my working week always starts on a sunday and ends on a thursday so that only leaves me with fri and sat off.

Anyway, it is the creativity of the chef that matters.
I don't think I can manage anything but boiling in the kitchen.
Yes, the kids do a few extra curricular activities. Keshi has to concentrate a little more on her forthcoming exams. The boy gets into full swing on weekends.
You will have to go through the same when your little ones are older.

I think its great that kids are kept busy as it keeps them out of trouble and its good for social skills.
Amber wants to start dancing lessons and karate and gymnastics and little knippers which is a sport done down at the beach plus she also wants to play soccer oh and i cannot foget little athetics(track work)
I told her that she cannot simply do all of them so she said alright i will only drop one of them.but isnt sure which one
Does the maid/servant do the cooking in your house?
Im dreading my girls growing up as they cost me a fortune now so god help me when they are older.

SD HA Posted Nov 3, 2007
What a coincidence !!!
Both my kids do a variation of Karate - Fei Quan Do - and now have their Black belts. I strongly recommend you to encourage them to do a sport of that nature it builds up confidence, discipline and respect for their physique. I too have a black belt in Karate - they did not have variations back then.
Yes, my maid does all the cooking at our place.
Do not worry about the future of your kids - things always fall into place as long as we work honestly and without being lazy.

Hermione1 Posted Nov 4, 2007
Ahhhh so you have a maid that cooks aswell as cleans
Sorry i left without saying bye last night but it was getting late and i had to watch a movie with Amber since i promised her and i was hoping for an early night since i had to work today but that didnt happen as Lohla was up half the night due to teething.
And now that i know you have a black belt i now know not to mess with you hahahahah.
One of Ambers Aunty is good at shaulin and we are going to enrol her in that next year.

SD HA Posted Nov 4, 2007
Hi there,
Little people are indeed very irritable when teething !!!
Ideally (I think) training in martial arts should commence when around 10 yrs, but please ask your instructor's opinion.
As I told you, the set up over here is different my household staff includes cook, general maid (for cleaning), houseboy (for shopping & gardening) and the driver.
Utterly bored no sports or anything nice on TV.
Eagerly awaiting cricket matches against your country starting on the 8th November. Does Ricky follow cricket at all ?
Please Don't Go
Hermione1 Posted Nov 4, 2007
Yes Rick loves the cricket and just about all other sports aswell.
And you must be very rich to have all those employees, over here i dont have any paid help as we do everything ourselves and Rick has been terrific since i have been back at work, when i come home after work the house is spotless and all i gotta do is cook tea.
Is it customary to have all that help?Or is it only that ones that can afford it?
Well i must be off as i gotta go put the kids to bed and try and have an early night incase Lohla has another bad night but i will talk to you again 2moz as i dont start till 5pm as its a short shift and i finish at 9pm
Our hours are mon to sun 8am to 8.30pm and then we have half an hour to clean the shop.
Take care and most importantly have fun
