Big hiya
My screen name is pronounced as Coo She, and is Gaelic for Hound of the Fairies, but unfortunatly, I don't speak Gaelic, just one or two words. I'm in my final year of doing Archaeology and Scottish Literature at a University in Scotland, and I have wanted to be a writer since I was ten years old. Even though I tend to write prose, I started to write poetry when I was in first year ant Uni, when I was asked ot write something for the University website. At the moment, I am working on my first novel, which is set at different times, which makes it hard to explain, but basically, it kind of Apocalyptic, and looks at how the characters cope with it. I'm a massive rock fan, especially Queen, and I find that music tends to help me write, as it helps me to concentrate as well as giving me one or two ideas. I am also influenced by and interested in history and folklore, which is one of the reasons why I love The Hound of the Baskervilles so much, as well as me being a massive Sherlock Holmes fan. I also love Phatom of the Opera . It is such a good book, and the Phantom such a good character, but the novel is so underrated, but a must read. The writers I love include, James Hogg, Victor Hugo, Gaston Leroux, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, Iain Banks and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
At the moment I am putting some of the chapter of my first novel up, and if anyone has any constructive comments, please let me know. I'm desperate for the inspiration, as I would really like to see it finished.
Please read the poems by Sheona_Poet.
Vicki Moor 1990-2004. An inspiration, a shining light, a musician, fellow Queen fan (even though I never met her), and a cancer sufferer even though she fought it to the end. Her story can be read on the Brian May website http://www.brianmay.com" >http://www.brianmay.com. Click on main menu, and then on Vicki's Story. A foundation will soon be founded in her name to raise money for children with cancer.
