Without giving out my personal details, I can reveal that originally my 'login' was Saints76. Which has now changed to the present one! Born a long time ago in the fair county of Hampshire, I first got interested in Southampton Football Club at an early age. They had just beaten Man Utd in an FA cup match as I remember. Some years later I attended my first match. This was in the days of Ted Bates in charge of the team. After moving away from the area I tried to follow the fortunes of 'my' team as best as I could. Which if you were a Southampton fan in those days was hard. Nowadays with text alerts, Teletext, and of course a dedicated web site (www.saintsfc.co.uk) life is a lot more simple, and following the team a lot easier. As it's difficult to get to the gorund from where I live (miles away) and my job means I 'work' Saturday, I sometimes see Saints play in for instance 'Friendly games'. One day, who knows maybe I'll stop work, and get a season ticket,and go to see some 'real' football again!
Best game I saw was Mick Channon's 'benefit' match May 5th 1976. When standing at the 'Archers' end I was so happy to see the FA Cup in 'our' hands! 20 Sept 2004
