I'm afraid I don't really understand how scouting works.

If another scout thinks that something is ready, shouldn't they pick it?

Not sure what you mean KB? Each Scout has a quota per month, to make within a certain time, this gives a spread of different views and interests.

Of course it would be great if an Entry could be picked just as soon as it is judged to be ready, and I would welcome that wholeheartedly. I am wary of changing the system though to one where the Scouts can recommend without limit, ( we did have a little experiment with doing it this way a while back) as some Scouts got to make all the easy picks and still left good Entries behind, while other Scouts found that there were no Entries that appealed to them because one or two of the 'keen' Scouts has scooped up all the ones that they'd been interested in.

It would be good if all Scouts made their quotas each month, as this would probably mean that Entries didn't get forgotten. Also, by having a fair number of Scouts with different interests means that all types of Entries get to be recommended.

I'd *really like you to keep being a Scout, your viewpoint is important, you've been a member for a long time, you write well, you know your stuff and you strike me as having a very straightforward take on things.
