Hey, KB. As you probably now, paranoia is driving h2g2ers to copy a lot of their content onto other places on the web - just in case.
Now, I don't share the pessimism, but I am setting up some of my guide entries on the blogspace Google provides for free, in the hopes of attracting a bit of h2g2 publicity - I'm linking to h2g2 from there. It's worth a shot, anyway, and it gives me another writing sample link for my resume.
Would it be okay if I used your Grace Gifford pic on this (totally non-profit) website? I can't pay you or anything.
I've already got Mala's Peachoid and her bloodthirsty, evil poodle...

Oh, absolutely! I don't know that Joe and Grace would have been as disdainful of property as James Connolly, say, but luckily I am.
I'm flattered you asked. And since Grace was a cartoonist herself, we can't let her go unillustrated!

Thanks much. I'll post you a link when I've got it up.
I know it's not much, but I thought, well, every little bit helps...

Oh, and here's the link, now that I finally got most of the bugs out of my presentation:

That's looking pretty good! The entries go quite well in a blog format because one comes after the other in a roll, even though they are completely unrelated. I love that kind of eclectic thing, you never know what's coming next.
Mal lent me a comic about 1916 yesterday, and it starts off with Joe and Grace's wedding. The guy didn't even take time to get her dress right. He left the checks off it. Tch!

Some people think artistic licence means you never have to do any research.
Shame on them - after all, there's a carte de visite photo she posed for, and everything.

To be honest, accuracy is the only thing my illustration had going for it. It was a rushed job, because I was drawing it for the next day. I'm not proud of it...But there are things about the comic I don't like, too.
Key: Complain about this post
