Is it just me?

I think I've got a bad dose of the blues.
We've planned a lot of different holidays this year, my friends and I, and every single time people have pulled out because of the weather, or an appointment, or a better offer, or something else.
It's my birthday next week, and I planned to spend a bit of time with P, but she has to go up to the northwest for an interview. Same story every ducking time.
Is it just me?

Life's like that these days. I think you'll find this sort of thing happening a lot. People are becoming slaves to their employers. Er .. metaphorically speaking.

Damn touchpad - sent off that post whilst I was in full swing.
(Why are those things at the bottom of the keyboard?)
Um yes. As I was saying. People are forgetting their priorities in their desperation to keep a job/contact/very demanding person happy.
Nice people like us () take second place.
You are quite welcome to come and spend a holiday here. I might ask you to mow the lawn, but otherwise there would be no hitches. And I haven't forgotten that at the last 2 h2g2 meets I was hoping to meet KB, he was the one who didn't turn up. even bigger
No offence, no grudge borne - things (the recession, danger of unemployment, the 21st century in general) just get in the way sometimes. In other words, and in answer to the question:
Probably not.

Aye, point taken. I didn't meet you when you came to Ireland because "Things Got In The Way", so I know what you mean.

I think TC has put her finger right on it. The best laid plans are at the mercy of the Fates and they can be, unfortunately, bitter hags at times.

I blame technology. If it were me, I would be noting one date in my phone, remembering the other in my head, the other in my scheduler on my work computer and yet another in the calendar on my home computer. Not to mention the slips from doctors and hairdressers that sit and get dog-eared in my purse, and somewhere in my handbag I also have a diary.
One tends to forget that, even though one is a "different person" at work, at home, at piano lessons and if one's hair goes to the hairdresser one has to go with it, each of us has to share the same 24 hours and 7 days*. Which means that TC now has to turn into her RL self and get her a*se to the office.
(*If I rephrased that sentence so it made sense, it could almost be a contender for QoTD)
Key: Complain about this post
