P. had charge of the radio controls all afternoon, and is displaying a startling tendency to listen to country rock. I'm still shaking.
Eventually, my cup ranneth over. When I heard some line about "...Mister Right..." - is there a more nauseating phrase in the English language than this? - I had to get up, flick the thing off, and put BB King and Rory Gallagher on.
All is well with the world once again.

It sure isn't what I was expecting Is anyone able to take an evening stroll to Sir Henry Wood's grave and listen for sounds of rotation?

Well, having said that it wasn't what I was expecting, I don't actually know what I was expecting, to be honest. But whatever it was that I wasn't expecting, that wasn't it
I don't mind admitting though that my eyes got a bit misty at the end when the orchestra played that iconic theme tune

It was a but of a laugh, anyway.
Doctor Who has always had the coolest theme music, though. I'm told that when I was a baby or toddler the theme tune used to scare the wits out of me.

I can well believe that because it used to do the same thing to me, especially the original Hartnell version, and especially with those creepy visual effects I always wondered if that was what it looked like outside the TARDIS as it was travelling through time
But they started tinkering with it almost straight away. The little extra bits they added for the Troughton years didn't do anything for it, in my opinion, and in the 80s and 90s they naused it up completely. I really like the Eccleston/Tennant orchestral (with added electronica) version though. It works very well.

I do have a recollection of
Tim Minchin
playing the Doctor Who theme
on a keytar
with orchestral accompaniment
while standing on a piano stool
and wearing a Prince Charles facemask.

Reminder to myself on the subject of music to avoid:
No Public Enemy before bedtime. The earworms aren't conducive to sleep!
Chuck D has his many strengths, but singing lullabies ain't one of them.
