T minus 4 and counting: Our last week with the BBC
Taff at home Posted Sep 27, 2011
i was doing this job before we had bbc access, then doing it before i found hootoo, its just that hootoo has become soo much of my life at work, that i have got to know you all as real people and friends and now i'm going back to just the bbc, but a bbc that is far more inferior to when i first came to hootoo, i still have acess from home, but its not the same, there is no reason at home to be on here for a straight 11 hours all through the night, i'll be one of the daylight users and i'll just interact with the daytime users and less so with all the nightime people

consider i have been on here for around 77 hours a week, week on/week off, my real life friends i see 2 or 3 times a week for about 10 - 15 hours a week

Yep... I can identify with that.

Me, too.
I'm of the opinion that getting to know people online has advantages over so-called real life. One needn't distracted by petty details, such as race, color, creed, age, gender, etc.

And now it is Wimpy/Tues and T minus 3, which it has been for quite some time for most of my h2g2c2&3 cohorts. I suppose I better find out how best I can help.

If i lose access to h2g2 at school because it is not a bbc site anymore its going to really cut down the amount of time i can spend on it - I might have to try some serious campaigning to get it through the school systems.
I might be able to use my MUN entry to show that it benefits the school,
And so my war, not to mention a certain amount of stress to see how our filter sees it

It should be easy to argue h2g2's value as a research tool. Where else could you find instructions for making a shopping bag bra? A450587

NBB Icy North has a list of all the times that h2g2 has been represented in academic journals..

Might steal it - tech support are not the most accepting when it comes to sites, though at least my one SOUNDS valid - unlike someone I'm helping with an MUN topic "Eliminating child cyber-pornography"
She's a year 9 (thats 13), and the filter at school runs off lists of words primarily - me and a teacher are struggling to let school keep her from being banned from the network, let alone be allowed to check things like the UKs list of facts :S
I'll wait and see, and then start complaining
