Today I have decided that I hate my job!
I used to really enjoy it, didn't mind working late or being on call 24 hours, but last weekend has really soured me on the whole thing!
I was supposed to work a few hours on Sunday morning only, but I ended up working from 9:30am til 11:00pm on Saturday and 10-2pm and then 7-10pm on Sunday. I then got woken by the on-call phone at 06.30am today! I work 9am til 8 pm most days without a lunch break for the crappiest wages in the world. The only upside is that having this job means that I can live in Portugal and not in the UK! (that's worth a lot of hassle!!)
Now today, the dottery old bleeding guests that I have been babysitting all week have reneged on part of a booking that they asked me to make for them. They gave no notice so my company is being charged 50% of the cost, which is going to come from the commission I have made on the whole booking in the first place. (They're not so dottery when it comes to refusing to pay the cancellation fee!!)So I have worked my ass off for 3 days solid to make some pennies and I'm gonna have to give it all back now! Why do I bother? It's costing me money to work harder!
Now that's off my chest, I have attained my previous like state.
