Typical, isn't it. Just when we get a good bash going on the CMB, the computers go on strike. Tim did suggest maybe they were pre-modding me when mine stopped letting me into the board. But then his did the same, so
Blasted things reconnected at 1 minute past nine.
Have we missed the party then?

Hi Sally. I thought it was just me. Perhaps something happens to the Beeb when some of its message boards convert from 'reply' mode to 'the board is closed' mode. It was very disconcerting, because the whole Beeb shut down for me. Everything.
Anyway, that was fun. I had noticed people studiously ignoring smidt's thread. It just hung there in cyber space with its sad zero looking out at me. I was tempted to be a smart alec, but I refrained. Then I was tempted to contact you all and ask you if you wanted to wind smidt up around this conversion idea; you know, a bit of pantomime?
Then I saw Tim putting his two bits in and I knew
1) the gig's on.
2) the Mod's asleep.
And that was all I needed to know. The rest is history. Ani.
PS: The sweetest part was sneaking the latin in.

Hi Ani,
It wasn't just the beeb - we lost the whole connection .
Well, it probably was, indirectly. I think the link crashed when it was trying to download all those 'Someone's replied to your message' emails. One of these days, I will get the server sorted out to collect its emails efficiently (maybe)
Not today though, since we've got visitors arriving in a couple of hours and I've got to babyproof the house before they get here.
Better go!
Sally
