Goths
Posted Sep 16, 1999
Note to self:
Write inspiring piece about Goths. Something about how it used to be
the subculture of the intellectual depressed. People who were true
intellectuals and who realized that the world could not include them. They
read nice mournful poetry and thought about suicide a lot while
holding a knife to their throats. Prolly the best explanation for the
perversion of the Goth lifestyle is that the best Goths killed
themselves (hopefully after writing something worthwhile). If you
are a Goth and have not killed yourself, you are not doing something
right. So in a darwinesque move, Goths became watered down versions
of what they were. Angry kids who hate their middle class lives, but
not enough to kill themselves, became the dominant Goth movement
because the real ones died. It may not have been an evolution for
the better, but it certainly disproves those who say we can't see
evolution in action.
Oh yeah, mention something about the silly dress code.
Hmmmm, Goth piece needs work....

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
