it is not easy standing in front of a load of people to give a talk, they will have understood nerves(or they'd better have).

when young, we have to travel 14mile to Leeds to see Mr Birkin. I have been told by mam, that sometimes it was 3 days per week and in those days, the rent got left to cover bus fares.
I was saddened years ago, because a friend at work, whose daughter started with the curvature, got a letter from Leeds hospital asking if they would sign it, they were getting signatures of patients, because Mr Birkin was retiring. I never got one! and being his 1st patient/case I'd have thought I'd have been top of the list as such

Don't fret,it was probably only a current list of patients. He WON'T have forgotten you, that's for suresmiley - bigeyes. It was a long way to travel on the bus ,so often. We see specialists every 3-6 months, but I'm driving ,so we can do a couple of hundred miles in the day,(usually finishing up at a takeaway or restaurant as a treat- and because I'm too tired to cook as well).Daughter sleeps well in the car.Always did. She's noisier now than when she was a baby!

I sat down to give the talksmiley - winkeye

Maltesers at the mo:A bag,since I've been on tonight.smiley - winkeye
Enjoyed the poem from the Punjab.Nearly posted my favourite cricket lyric, by Roy Harper "when an old cricketer leaves the crease,
you never know whether he's gone
And sometimes you're catching a fleeting glimpse
of a twelfth man at silly mid on
And it could be Geoff and it could be John
with a new ball sting in the tail
Or it could be me or it could be thee
Or it could be the sting in the ale....
(something like that,anyway.It's a classic)
