I've got a lot more weeds than grass,a few pansies grew overnight,but its a newly seeded lawn- got a bit burnt last month.

I've got feed/weed and moss killer down, the weeds and moss just laugh
I spread that Canada Green down last year, did it grownope!

I've just printed them off- memory's crap these days,keep getting moments(come to think of it, I've had those most of my life)

Deep ,sandy soil,it says in your link about Pontefract,is perfect for growing liquorice! ! never knew that before.Could start a Pomfret Cake Farm. Got lots of that.
Is it very quiet now the dog's gone home? Did it behave? Mine was always very funny and embarrassing in equal measure. He liked "hugging" strangers legs- especially the lady who came round with the Parish Magazine.She was very about it though.

actually, in my back garden, I have a genuine Pontefract liquorice plant, bought for a birthday off my sister a few year ago, after 3/4 year it now grows about 2ft

when she got it from, the lady had to take the seeds to a lab, to get them to grow, apparently they are very hard to cultivate ??, at one point I was going to dig it up(in time) for the rootbut now I'm just letting it grow. it has little white flowers on, but no smell/scent as yet
