Morning mouse. Sorry about the cold, it's a bit of a fact of life for little children. Get well soon

A baby with a cold is heart-rending. I hope you all pull through soon.

A snotsucker is a harmless-looking gadget - a rubber bubble with a silicone nozzle which fits into the baby's nostril. As they can't blow their noses yet, we, as parents, feel impelled to do it for them. You squeeze the "bubble" and gently put the nozzle up one nostril and hold the other one shut with your thumb. If possible the child's mouth should also be shut. Then you let go of the bubble and - theoretically - the snot gets sucked out of the baby's system.
Considering that you're doing them a favour, they make a helluva racket about it. But it is pretty scary, having both nostrils and your mouth blocked, and the feeling of having your brain sucked out is even worse, so I can quite understand them.
Don't forget to dismantle the snotsucker after use and rinse out well ready for the next time. If there is one.

Of course, to use a snotsucker correctly, it helps to be an octopus. I never could get the tip into a nostril long enough to use the darn thing.

In those two sentences there must be enough inspiration for someone to outdo 'Fifty Shades of Grey'?
