Orienteering
Orienteering is a sport involving a map, a course, some flags and clippers, and possibly some running.
One of the really good things about it is that you do it on your own, usually in a Forest. This means you can run 50 metres from the start, disappear from sight, have a pleasnt hour or so searching for the little flags with no one watching you, and then run the last 50 metres into the finish. When asked why you took so long you can complain about how hidden control whatever was, or how you stopped to help someone who was really lost or somesuch.
Of course the really fit ones run the whole way, and probably enjoy it just as much.
