Glad I'm not a cat ....

... as I would have used up all my nine lives through curiosity!
I noticed your name on ReddyFreddy's friends list and both my humour and curiosity were piqued, so thought I'd drop on by to say hello.
So... hello
Glad I'm not a cat ....

Hi Ancrene!
So glad you dropped by for a quick lurke - I didn't know that I was on Reddy Freddy's friend list - mind you, the way my week's going so far (I know it's only Monday) I'm glad to be anybody's friend.
It's been a pig so far - the resident hedgehog family are becoming very picky about what they'll eat (currently Whiskas Supameat is not acceptable) and the neighbourhood foxes insist on eating what the hedgehogs won't. Even my Mr & Mrs Toad are becoming most peculiar (is that the right spelling?)
I have a 'potential' Son in Law who worships Terry Pratchett as God; and supports Cardiff City FC when my Husband is a Forest supporter.
Other than all of the above, the world is a wonderful place and I am a happy badger!!
By the way - why are you glad you're not a cat? I have two black beauties (13 years old now) who have the life of Rielly. If I had the choice in this household, I would definitely BE A CAT!! - Today for example, they started off with a dollop of Whiskas around 6:00am, they weren't too keen; but endured it for the sake of appearances. At around 11:00 they moseyed on down for a tin of tuna and when we got back from a day at the caravan, they managed to force down the odd mouthful of fresh herring (not a bad old day).
As its now about 01:45, I suppose I'd better stop boring you and get to bed. The dog from hell will want to be down the fields at 5:00 in the morning.
I had a quick lurke on your PS before this missive - its absolutely wonderful. I've forgotten more than I ever learned about how to set out mine, so its never been updated. Must have another look soooooon.
Take care and keep in touch (if you can bear it)
Glad I'm not a cat ....

Thanks for the compliment on my PS. I was a bit bored yesterday and spent some time tarting it up a bit, with some help from the GuideML "how to" page . It probably helps that I used to work in the IT industry and have a bit of experience with HTML, which is very similar. I'm not a programmer though - that's my other half's field; I was a software tester in my previous career incarnation.
No offence to cats was intended - I love all animals, though I'm really more of a dog person - it was just a reference to my insatiable curiosity, and that I would have used up all of my nine lives by now if I were of the feline persuasion!
Sounds like you have an interesting mix of domestic and semi-domesticated visitors around your garden - how lovely! We get a fair amount of birds - mostly sparrows, blackbirds and magpies - the occasional mouse and almost all of the neighbourhood cats, but we're not presently owned by any particular pets outselves - would like to be, but unfortunately my husband has allergies to pretty much everything with fur or feathers.
We have a clash between West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa; most of my side of the family and the majority of our friends are Baggies supporters, while my husband and son, and most of my husband's side of the family, are Villans. It's all good natured banter, but there's always a strong sense of rivalry whenever the teams play each other.
Talking of play, I'd better go find out where my son is! He'll be hollering for his tea soon, no doubt.
Stay happy.
