That seems to be the view given by a couple of others too.
They take quite a while to 'pupate' is that the right word? Some are still there after quite a while, others have disappeared without me noticing; although I have been watching them with annoying regularity. As well as the usual ladybirds on the tree, there are a few which I thought were 18 spot - maybe these are the harlequins.
