Of the longest PS on h2g2?
Wanted to ask, I see you are in a few threads that I'm not with a certain newbie. Just wondered if they are able to engage with anyone in those threads and have meaningful interaction?
Hopefully you will know who I mean or I'll have to drop some hints

Ah. No. I get you. *that* newbie.
There's two I'm thinking of now. My money's on the daughter of the sun.

Yep.
Were we not getting on? I didn't know I don't really fall out with people that I normally get on with. But it can be hard to tell sometimes in text. I wouldn't worry about what happens in debate threads, cos for me that's all about the argument. If you insulted me or something to the point of it affecting how we get on I'd tell you most likely.

Ach...it was more a certain A.N.O. leaping to your defence in certain quite reasonably robust exchanges and trying to give the impression of a united front. That person has been critical of my 'opposition' to you...but I don't think that either you or I thought we were in opposition.
OK...so I poke at your liberal assumptions sometimes. But in a healthy way, I hope. Me - I'm to the Left of liberal.

I'm not sure what I am these days.
A.N.O? Got another clue?
Speaking of, newbie PA?
I'm trying to figure out why it's pissed me off that newbie thinks we, including me, are a bunch of sheep who can't think well and want to control the maverick behaviour. Should I even care?

Well I've been warned about (neutral pronoun) Them in certain threads and I haven't gone looking for them. In the threads where I've interacted...it seems that They're setting Themself up as 'I'm right, you're all wrong and none of you understand'.
However...I did chip in because A.N.O. has railed in the past about how sterile Marxism is nothing to do with the way that people *feel*. Well...I'm afraid that greater minds than mine have tackled the Marxism/psychoanalysis interface over the last fifty-odd years. Or take something like Transactional Analysis. What is that but looking at human relationships as power differentials? Marx laid that groundwork.
Damn! I really am needing a good website on Contemporary Marxism. He's *such* an important philosopher. I've been bereft since the 1980s 'Marxism Today' monthly folded.

Well I, personally, would fail it. I'm afraid. A beloved Ford Prefect that is no longer roadworthy.
Whether enough it could be sold on and polished up by enthusiasts...that's another matter.

Crikey, are you really that down on the place at the moment? What gives?
