Hi Edward,

I've finished subbing your entry on The Effluvia of the Human Body so feel free to take a look and give me any feedback before I send it back to the editors in a couple of days. I've also left a message on WanderingAlbatross's space.

Very long, but good and interesting entry - with just a hint of 'yuk' factor!

Well done. A mammoth effort. I suppose the bukkake reference had to go.

A minor quibble: I'd prefer if all the Chaucer references were left in. But if I had to choose the one, it would be the one with 'a thonder dent' in it.

Also - in the footnote about the uvula, it might be worth adding that Willy the Whale had three uvulae (Disney short about an operatic whale).

Hi Edward,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes - I think it's prudent to remove the bukkake reference, especially with children on the site.

Re. Chaucer, I thought having both Chaucer references was labouring the point a little, especially with the entry being long and there being so many footnotes anyway. Fine to change it to the second one instead though, but can I cut the lines after 'thonder-dent'? It's a long quotation and it's hard enough to work out what on earth Chaucer is on about.. (I managed to get out of the Chaucer option in my English degree!). I don't think the bit after 'thonder-dent' adds much to the joke, and I don't understand the Old English in that bit anyway.

Not sure why you want to add the bit about Willy the Whale - is that a well-known cartoon? I've never heard of it. I'm just unsure why it's relevant...smiley - erm

No need to add the Whale stuff. My anatomy lecturer always used to mention it.

But...as for having skipped the Chaucer option...Shame on you! My standard response to those who say 'We never did that at school/ university' is 'Yes...however, you have been out of school/university for a while now, but there are many fine libraries...'smiley - winkeyesmiley - smiley

Hmmm... well, unfortunately I'm not dedicated/diligent/interested (delete as appropriate) enough to want to read Chaucer when I don't have to. smiley - winkeye. I had to do Parlement of Fowles as an introductory module in my first year (strange system at my uni where you do three subjects for the first two terms then exams to see which ones you can carry on with), and that was quite enough for me, thanks smiley - headhurts...smiley - smiley

Ta!

If they honour me with a blob, I suggest something along these lines: http://www.sobi.org/photos/places/Brussels/pis/

Now, if only I can get one of the Scouts to take an interest in A4061251

smiley - cheers

Don't think the Italics will see your suggestion for a blob here though, I'm afraid...

Anyway, I'll get this off now. Well done, and we'll see it on the Front Page soon!
