I saw your post in the Guards thread (don't ask me to spell out the Latin) and I had to say: I just adore the album Songs To Remember. I only liked that one though, anything afterwards bored me.
And I only bought that because I saw an clip about them in the Sunday Times (or Telegraph) waaaay back when I was in the upper sixth.
Asylums in Jerusalem is one of my favourite tunes for jogging. Pity I can't get it onto my shiny new mp3 player.

I have fond memories of songs to remember too...but they don't involve jogging
You're lacking an mp3? That can be arranged. Use the e-mail address on my Personal Space (but not a word to the mods).
With his hammer and his popsicle/ We'll put him in the hospital...

ooooo you, m.dear are fantastico!!
I'll put something h2g2ish in the subject so you don't consign me to the spam bin.
I knew there was a reason I liked you!

I think I've got the whole album on my hard drive already. I'll start with Assylums ... and if you want you can have the whole lot.
You may want to set up a gmail account which gives you (practically) unlimited storage - plus won't clog up your mailserver as you try and download. It's by invitation only - but I've still got 50 invites to dish out.
No problem about spamming on that account. It was designed specifically to receive spam! I'm much more careful about giving out my 'proper' address, after having an old account smothered by ads for barely legal teenz (sic!)
viel Spass!

PS. I still retain a fondness for Green Gartside's later work. Do you not even like Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)?

Actually, I do have the single of Wood Beez - it's ok, but it doesn't grab me like most of the stuff on Songs to Remember.
I must Google him though, I haven't seen anything of his for ages.
Takes me back to the days when you could see Pulp in Sheffield - I always thought they would be bigger than Scritti Politti, but it's a close run thing I guess.
Anyway, if I'm clever enough you should have an email from me (and one song is enough, thanks, to tide me over. It really is a good running tune)
Key: Complain about this post
