Gosh! That does look good. I'd not heard of it. And Spike's *always* going to get mixed reviews. (sometimes desevervedly).
You didn't like 'Crash' did you, PC? I thought it was wonderful. I think it was far more subtle and intelligent than the 'They're saying we're all racists!' message that some USAnians seem to have got out of it.

I just thought it was predictable, boring, and poorly written. Didn't like it at all. That's actually the crux of most negative reviews of CSA, that and it's poorly acted as well. I can't watch something for its "message" if it's a crap film otherwise.

Fair enough. But in its favour...Thandie Newton looked *hot* in that dress.
(Apparently we have a young Rwandan student starting in the summer. She was in for interview a few days ago. I'm going to have to control myself!)

Yeah, I suppose hot-looking ladies aren't always enough to hold my attention. But I can appreciate the redeeming factor a fine-looking individual can lend to an otherwise mediocre program or movie- I've got a thing for Jeremy Sisto myself.

Oh... i quite like That Petrol Emotion. I haven't got nearly enough of their stuff- "Big decision" has got to be my theme song, and I wish I *owned* it....

Agitate! Educate! Organise!
I rediscovered that recently. Emil found an ancient tape and put it on his Early Learning Centre casette player...which I think is the only one in the house.
Wait...didn't I blog about it?

My goodly friend Simon got me a ticket to see Buena Vista Social Club Presents: Cachaito Lopez, Guajiro Mirabal, Aguaje Ramos & Manuel Galban in concert next month.
I asked for Frankie Boyle, but they were sold out.

Not such a big fan of Buena Vista Social Club.
I did dig out some 20-odd-year-old cassettes while tidying up earlier today, so I'll feed my nostalgia monster later this week.
And my dad's coming up the following week, bring all of my Smurfs along with him.

Sweet. Always reminds me of that discussion in Donnie Darko.
Got a couple of nice books from Tom today - one on painting, and "The Cloudspotter's Guide". And, something else.
Taken tomorrow off, might go to Felixstowe to look for new shoes, and unexploded Nazi ordnance.

We got some new books on Saturday ourselves. I used a gift card my company gave me as a thank-you for all my hard work. Got a graphic novel about medieval mice, "Getting Stoned With Savages" (a sequel to the travelogue "The Sex Lives of Cannibals"), "The Chosen" and PK Dick's "Eye in the Sky".
