We just watched "There Will Be Blood", and it was much, much better than that Coen Bros Film. I just loved how the preacher was a bigger scumbag than the oil man.

Oh, *isn't* it good? That last scene is dynamite.
And I loved the preacher's face at the well opening.
But isn't the oil guy so ing ammorol? His relationship with his son is his only redeeming feature, and yet...

See, IMO (and I could've come away with something totally out there), Plainview (the oil man) is totally amoral, but Eli Sunday (preacher man) is *immoral*. I actually have a bit more sympathy for the creep who is what he is and makes no bones about it, than the creep with delusions of grandeur and pretenses of piety.

Yeah. Precisely. He's a fraud. Plainview has his number. Whatever else Plainview is, he's not a fraud. Except in the matter of his 'son'. But then - look at the preacher and his father.
But maaaan - what a stunning performance?!! From both of them, but especially CD-L.
(His father was a rather fine poet, btw)

I've never been a big fan of Daniel Day-Lewis, but yeah, I was impressed!
Reading a lot of Netflix reviews, people seemed confused as to why the preacher said what he said in that last scene. Zoooooooom!
But I thought I'd let you know I really enjoyed this one so you didn't give up on me completely. Meanwhile, I've just ordered the complete original Star Trek series.
I've got a parcel ready to ship to you next Saturday; needed some packaging material. Any other movies or music you'd like me to toss in, besides Hava Narghile, before I tape it up?
That was one goddamn helluva show.

No problemo. I'm also tossing in two other CDs that friends gave me which we already have. And two (hopefully) really cool surprises. One of them I found while Xmas shopping... tell me I don't procrastinate when it comes to going to the post office.
