.... I think letting that post stand was possibly one of your finest moments.
I feel like while it is not yet up in the ditch for the New Zealand native, the bottom of the ditch is clearly visible.

Yeah. I was genuinely shocked. And her response is to accuse me of pro-Zionism.
Actually...of all the people on the thread, yourself included, I'm the one whose sympathies are probably closest to her own. But she really shouldn't let fly with anti-semitism just because she wants to diss someone's arguments on an unrelated topic.
Silly girl.

The feeling I keep getting is that she's just not any good at explaining herself. Like I said, I think typed conversations are poor ways to express one's self at the best of times buut she seems to compound that with expectations that everyone understands her fully.
I just want her to realise that even if she didn't intend to be racist, the statement itself _was_. Instead she goes off on a tangent of her own invention, reacting to a perceived insult.
Anyway, I must leave work now or people will wonder what I'm doing here.

It's also that she sometimes lashes out to score a point. She gets stupidly vicious and makes blanket, black/white dismissals. Then rather than back off, she has to dig herself into a deeper and deeper hole.
In the case at hand...it's not even as though I'm at all a supporter of Hitchens', Aaronovitch's or Cohen's politics!
But you really have to wonder when anti-Semitism surfaces so easily. I mean...who would normally point out Jewish surnames?
(That said, I have gratifyingly poor Jewdar anyway)
Enjoy your evening. Or morning, if you don't see this until then.
Key: Complain about this post
