re glowworms: I think it was Shiva Naipaul, Trinadian writer, brother of the more famous V.S., who wrote a story about a boy whon caught glowworms in a jar in order to do his homework.

Lamps is a pretty far out topic, no? Even wierder than this one of mine: A2979840. Why lamps?

I was stuck for something to write about, so I thought: "How about lamps?" (Actually, I was looking online for "Street Lamps," but couldn't find anything, so I went more general, and did Lamps)

Much the same reason as I chose Pickles!

Actually - it was a good exercise. It got me into the run or researching and writing. I learnt quite a lot of things I didn't know beforehand.

...if you'd chosen streetlamps, you could have refered to 'The Drunkards Paradox' - if you get drunk and drop your keys, just keep searching for then under the streetlamp. There's no point looking anywhere else, because you won't be able to see them anyway.
