Seriously, I've been reading the thread in question with interest, and from where I'm sitting, you're just pointing out the feathers, bill, webbed feet, waddle and quack.

He's not just a screaming racist, but I can't recall where else I have encountered him and his bile. I'm doing too good a job of avoiding conversations that will add to my current stresses.

Anyway, while he seems to have devoted a lot of time and energy to learning about Islam, he certainly doesn't seem to have any knowledge of Muslims. Good luck with him...

JCNSmith sounds like a sincere guy who doesn't like to hear mom and dad argue. But he knows little of British politics. I've seen all the same arguments coming from a certain political party. I'm being careful not to accuse, though.

I'm not engaging in debate any more. My tactic is to show up once a day and give a reality check.

All I know of British politics is what I read here and on BBC news, which is why I haven't made a single comment in that thread.

(Well, that and the fact that I can't keep up with 90 posts a day when I've been so busy at the office most days)

Wow, and he is going to get away with talking the kind of garbage he does- in the new thread he invokes Godwin's Law before the tenth posting! But that's OK, so long as no one calls bullshit on him, because THAT is what's deemed offensive?

I'm overwhelmed with the urge to start yikesing him, but then other people wouldn't get to see what kind of filth he and others like him (SS, for example) spew.

And I was JUST starting to get back into this site again. Sigh.

Yeah - and there are two things that are really dicking me off:

1) Snide comments from an Italic who fails to see a difference between namecalling and anti-racism and who keeps hinting that I'm breaking the law.

2) SWL's subsequent bleating on a re-started thread about people dragging racism in, plus his implications *in my own journal* that I want his views censored.

Still - I'm mature enough to realise that the world is full of dicks.

Quite. I agree with you on all counts. I'm also quite annoyed by the person who started the original thread- who brings not only a racist viewpoint, but a misogynist one as well, to every thread he participates in- coming back to tell bold-faced lies about you and why the thread was closed.

I don't want someone to come along, snopp where they're neither wanted nor invited, and get you put on pre-mod, so I'll shut up now. But for what it's worth, I think you did the right thing, both in calling what you saw when you saw it (and other people, who don't share the offesnive views, saw it too) and for requesting clarification about yet another confusing and inconsistent ruling by the mods.
