heh!
*ahem*
sorry...
My camera....is a samsung thingy - digimax a402 and I have a problem with the flash.
It takes two flashes to take a pic, even when I turn the redeye function off..do you know how I can fix this? It blurrs the images...and no it isn't set on freeze flash thingy either...
I did sort it once and now I can't recall how...
I was wondering if you might have some tips?

Oh...sorry! I thought it was a general broadcast.
Yeah...it does seem to have various flash modes, according to the www (Google is your friend!). I wonder...is it like my camera which lets you select different modes using a menu button, via the LCD display? Mine is just in the right place to be activated by my nose.
I'll keep digging. There's a really good site which has in-depth reviews, but I'm ed if I can remember the name.

There you go!
Page 26/27 of your user manual has all the details about Flash modes. The big, round button with the menu button in the middle has an option on the left for flash modes. I'm guessing that you have it set to 'Slow Synch' instead of auto or fill-in.

Thank you! I do have the instruction manual pdf on here...and you'd think that the slow synch is on, but it isn't I don't geddit...anyhow...I can work with the program...but still sometimes I just like to have auto on, but I can't seem to get it to work without using the red eye function or no flash at all...and for quick pictures this is a pain in the rear...
Ah well, ta for the input tho!

Yeah...my last film camera was extremely slow too. People would see the Red Eye light and then move before I'd taken the shot.

I found the site I was looking for...Steve's Digicams.
It's got a review of an older model than yours - but usually they just bung in a sensor with more megapixies and keep everthing else the same. So...it might be down to the flash, which only has an effective range of 10'. I'm guessing it might be going off, then the camera realise it still hasn't got enough light, so it has to recharge before firing again.
Still...on the plus side it was relatively inexpensive

Or maybe not...
>>I can't seem to get it to work without using the red eye function or no flash at all...
You should be able to select Fill In so that the flash is permanently on.
I wonder...has it got exposure modes other than Auto? Maybe Auto limits it to Red Eye.

Oh so it's not just me then?
Thing is I can't get it to stop doing two flashes even on the program...GRR..which means it's overlapping right? Which is why I get blurred pics.
I had it working with one flash before...i don't know why it's doing this now..I notice the TV:1/30 does that mean anything significant? Cause I can't alter that down...
I have to pop off now and post some mothers day cards...have a brill day and thanks for listening and advice.

Auto seems to limit it to redeye and no flash at all. I'm almost positive that I had it on one flash before on auto, but I've done so much messing around and fiddling getting to grips with it prior to that, I can't actually remember for sure...so I have been trying to set it up as just one flash on the programable menu and I can't seem to do that either...
I really must go.....

Hah! If you google 'samsung a402 flash troubleshoot', the first couple of hits mention faulty flashses. Take it back to the shop!
