I'll be sure to do that when I am down there for breakfast tomorrow!

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

It's a looooong time since I was there.

Is Bagel Bagel still in business? Or the small wholefood store where I fell in love with the Quebecoise assistant? I was so young in those days. If I'd learnt as many lessons in life as I have now, I'd have had no hesitation in asking her out.

Bagel, Bagel is gone. I'm not sure about the whole-foods place. Was it perhaps the bulk-food shop in the Times-Square building? I don't think it is there, but the chain is still around. There is one near my place in the west end.

Oh... whole foods... The little place in the middle of the block. No, I think it is gone, too. I haven't noticed it lately and hadn't thought about it. I shall have to look next time. I used to buy my henna there when i used to henna.

There are, however, quite a number of little shops selling all sorts of food-stuffs, including an organic foods store across in the old Byward Market building. There is a great bakery/deli there when you can buy everything from ready-cooked foods to meats to pastries as well as sit down for a bowl of cafe au lait and a danish....

It smells marvelous in the market building.

The cheese shop is still there, as well, across on the other side of the market from wheere the health food store was.

Me too!smiley - rofl Henna never did much for me, though. I have exceptionally thick, dark hair. It looked much the same, except when the light caught it at a certain angle. Actually...these days it would make more of a difference. Every time I get my hair cut, I notice more and more grey smiley - sadface. Never mind...I've inherited my hair from my mother's side, and all their males die with full heads, albeit silvery.

The other place I remember was the butchers that had calves' brains in plastic bags lined up at the front of the window.

But - damn! - I wish I'd asked that girl out.
