The Writerly Emoticon Addict Southern Chick (and other egotisms)

As you might guess from my title, I am a very strange person.

I use emoticons profusely in conversation, and I have even put them into scholarly papers at times. I can't help myself. It's almost a fixation, much like nail biting (also a habit of mine) or pen chewing (yes, I do this too).

Let me set something straight. I am only an American high school student. I'm not at college yet, though I might talk profusely about dorms and homework. I also write with a bit of a British accent--or at least that's what I'm told. I read a lot of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. I've read the entire Canon (as it's called); in fact, I own a copy, which I am currently annotating. I belong to the WelcomeHolmes group on yahoo.com, too. I love Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately I seem to be copying Watson's style to a degree. This happens especially after I've finished another reading session.

I plan on becoming a famous writer someday, but at the moment I am merely an overworked, harrassed, unpublished writer. I'll update this section if I ever have any success.

That's all that I can think of right now, but it's almost doubtless that as soon as I press the update button, I'll think of something else.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
