Norti
you seem to want to derail the conversation over there. Why?
How do you _know_ that gentle folk feel confident enough to take part in a conversation when you continually refer to the joy you seem to derive from mentioning your steel baton? Can you cite any examples?
Let the kids fight in the playground? No, that only proves that the strongest, most aggressive win - whilst the smallest, physically weakest or the ones that don't enjoy hurting others lose.
h2g2 is not a jungle.

Welcome. I enjoy debate, when I have time (not all of us have the luxuary of constantly trawling other threads looking for things to be affronted at), and respect the courage of those to speak their mind.
There was no intent to derail the conversation, you are the one to blame for that with your rant about use of Doc Steele to dispatch vermin, quickly and humanely. I don't refer to it that often over all in converstaions, though I accept the reality of life doesn't always sit easily with your tenets and may stand out in isolation to your sensitivities. I guess you must have been the 'Help I'm living with killers' thread to make such a purile and all emcompassing judgement.
Letting the kids fight in the playground? Repeating, myself because some only hear what they want to hear or see, is where they learn about real life, ultimately co-operation and friendship.
I cite the spats HI and I have had with one another, we now have an entante cordial. Something you would do well to learn from

Perhaps your time would be better spent lurking this thread, rather than looking for any of my posts to be affronted by, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=8242489&skip=0&show=20 The latter posts may give you an insight into other aspects of my nature

ha ha - well I did notice it there - but come on norti - you mention it in _all_ your conversations. Take a look back if you like. You sound a bit like someone with an unhealthy obsession.
You've been tackled before I see, now I come to look at your personal space. So, I will just let you get on with it.
I was just hoping to convince you that we have all listened to your obsession with this baton, and have got bored with the repetitiveness. There must be something else that you like to talk about? Please?
. . . and why accuse me of 'lurking' in an Ask h2g2 thread? Just because I have nothing to add to the conversation doesn't mean that I don't find what others have to say ( in this case about training cats ) really interesting. Reading without posting is perfectly legitimate. All conversations are public. Even this one.

Fair play to you, there may be hope yet for both of us
Doc Steele does get a few mentions, conceded, but he is a practical, humane and cheaper alternative to shot One could say the same about your obsession with Lanzarote, I love the place by the way We both talk about other and varied things, just because some things are 'highlighted' by our own sensitivities doesn't necessarily make it obsessive, only to the sensitive.
Looking without posting is lurking, isn't it??? Com'on we all do it
I am well aware all postings are public, I wouldn't have it any other way, it is the best way to protect the community as a whole
There are some aspects that, returned from purgatory, researchers make me feel slightly uncomfortable. Not quite sure what it is, I usually put it down to cultural differences, we are international after all - something I found to my cost when I first came blundering around here with my politically incorrect humour
Robyn will teach you the tactics for putting me back in my place She had a unique knack of giving me an intellectual when I became too OTT.
