mind of his own, like our cats, eh? Answers or acknowledges just when-ever it seems to suit.
I'm not too worried about age, really. Some seasonal mornings, the joints don't work as well as I like, but I can still readily do the work with the 20 and 30 something lads that I share work-space with. Often far exceeding their poor and pampered abilities. Comes from good farm-stock, I'm sure.
The Lady Venus is looking forward to her visit, mostly because it will be nearing my 50th. And she's going to want to 'rub it in', the devilish wench.

Hi Nick, just to save you a lot of tedious trawling. Milady Venus has requested to see my updated photo's of the Devon countryside where I live. I do believe I left enough trails of breadcrumbs to locate me on the social networking site www.myspace.com ,however it appears the dear girl has gone into a mental hibernation. None-the-less, a quick visit to Learning Spanish will provide you with a cyber key to locate me on that site, along with that mischievous minx Robyn on my friends list! I see from the conversations that pop up on my list she is being as challenging as ever!

It took me a bit of Google time to figure out what you were on about. You see, though I did open a 'MySpace' account a long time ago, I have no idea of the account name or passwords. I didn't even know there were 'groups' there, so the Learning Spanish bit was meaningless for a time as well.
Here's a tidbit about the Lady Venus. She accesses e-mails and h2g2 using a digibox connection. It doesn't support web browsing, Google, or much of anything beyond the simplest text. She DOES have a PC, with pay-per-minute dial-up service. Costing as it does, you can perhaps understand why she is quite frugal with her use of that connection, using it perhaps every second week-end.
So, if you wish, you could send a full link to your 'MySpace' location via e-mail. I have an address on my Personal Space here, that resembles an envelope. Then I can forward that full link to her PC-internet mail account, for the next time she actually dials in ...

Ahhh, I see , thanks Nick. My fault for being so secretive. I'm always very wary about too many personal details unless I'm sure of who I'm talking to, says he who made sooooo many faux pas when first joined this site, took me a while to realise even the personal conversation spaces are completely public , unlike Myspace.com.
Crumbs, won't photographs take absolutely ages to download on dial up? Again, I'm guilty of assuming everybody has broadband
I'll send you all the info needed and trust it's secure I'm sure we know one another well enough

It would depend on how large the pics are. I send full-scale pics to my Fotki page, and as you've noticed, it doesn't take much effort to see just the thumb-nails. If the Lady Venus sees one that she is quite interested in, then she will only look at that one.
Another thing I have done in the past is e-mail her a smaller, more manageable sized version, of things. Like recent pics of my grand-kids.

I'm just about to go off-line and away to work, but I saw that you dropped a note to the Lady Venus. She had a particularly trying couple of days, and so hasn't been on-line much. I'm sure she will get back to you soon.

Milady was ingenuous , in a candid way, with me. I fully understand. I'll try and get about and see if I can find the Canadian chapel for you next week.

I have known the Lady as a friend for coming on 4 years now. And finally had the chance to meet her, in her domain. I know her to always be witty, clever, humourous and honest. If she has had an opinion of anyone that was in anyway negative, it's always been totally straight-forward and clear, no guile, spite or deceit in that lovely Goddess. So your use of the word 'ingenuous' had me hunting for possible definitions that I was un-aware of. I'm still a bit uncertain how you meant, mate.

I did mean it in the witty, clever, humourous and honest definition. Don't mistake it for *disingenuous*, which is the definition I believe you picked up on. Crikes, quite the opposite!

I'll give you the English dictionary definition : Candid, frank straightforward. Derived from the 16th century latin ingenuus: freeborn, virtuous

Oh, I knew you weren't being rude or anything. It's just not a word I run into many times in an average day.
So how's the weather been for your nature walks with the ? It's finally becoming colder here, with occassions of light snow or freezing rain. We've been advised by our 'experts' to expect the coldest winter across Canada in about 15 years.

Well whatever blows down from the Arctic across Canada is sure to cross the Atlantic to the UK. Hit and miss here. Just hoping it tays fine next week so I can get about in North Devon and get the pics I promised.
Hot and firey at work last week, so loads of paperwork to do

Some of the weather we get DOES translate across the Atlantic Sea. But much of it is buffered by the warmer ocean air-current thingies. A good thing for you folks, eh?
And yeah, I suppose the days of "he lost his mind, so I whupped him a bit with a truncheon" are gone. It's now all huggy-feel-good stuff, and reams of paperwork.

You're absolutely correct. To say more would undoubtably get me another 2 weeks on the Norti step, one of my many faux pas when I first discovered this site.

I gather you were a bit too 'candid' in your earlier days then? I played a bit of a silly and free-wheeling idjit my first few months. And found it impossible to maintain the mode ... So I created a new account, and am just who I naturally am.

More a case of being ingenuous, as in the naive and artless definition.
You do seem to be sending a lot of gales across the Atlantic at the moment. Guess you're getting ready for the winter freeze Do things really lock up in Ottowa?

Nawww, even Ottawa keeps going. Being full of our national politicians, maybe the hot-air keeps them going.

So where does Grizzly Adams hang out We all must blame the media for the enduring image of log cabins and Yukon trappers.
Any Canuck Christmas traditions? Do you guys still have to purchase your booze from Government liquor stores? Or has the mighty Walmart taken over there as well.
I kept my promise, I did drop the mask, just maintained the mystique

I suppose each family will have an assortment of traditions. We haven't specifically carried any over when we set up our own home. No family close enough to get involved with, so we usually try to have a quiet day. A big feast, with guests if we know someone in want of a table. Nothing elaborate.
And nope, all beer or liquor still comes from government run outlets. In Ontario atleast. A few provinces allow wine or beer to be sold in corner stores, but not on Sundays.
Key: Complain about this post
